Beihang University (BUAA), short for Beihang, is located in Beijing, the capital of China. It is one of the first batch of 16 national key universities directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and a university under direct administration of the central authorities. It is a key university included in the national "Project 211", "Project 985" and the "Double First-Class" Initiative (Class A).
It has been selected into the National Education and Training Program for Outstanding Engineers, the "2011 Plan", the "Strong Foundation Plan", the "Zhufeng Plan" and the "111 Plan". It is among the first batch of universities approved to establish the National Academy of Outstanding Engineers, the first batch of Future Technical Colleges, the first batch of National Integrated Circuit Colleges, the first batch of Characteristic Demonstrative Software Colleges, as well as a university in the new round of "Demonstrative Project for the Construction of First-Class Cybersecurity Colleges".
