Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport was founded in 1956. It is a department-level institution directly under the Ministry of Transport with a staffing quota of 550. As a national strategic scientific and technological force in the field of highway transportation, it mainly conducts scientific research, technological research and development, formulation and revision of standards and specifications, as well as scientific and technological services, technical support and personnel training in the highway transportation sector.
