Changjiang Waterway Bureau Survey Center (hereinafter referred to as the“Survey Center”) is affiliated with the Yangtze River Waterway Administration under the Ministry of Transport. It is primarily engaged in basic surveying and mapping, scientific research surveying and mapping, and major emergency surveying and mapping for the main channel of the Yangtze River; participates in the formulation of relevant systems and plans for the management of surveying and mapping of the main channel of the Yangtze River; is responsible for the management of information data, the organization, implementation, and operation and maintenance of information projects for the main channel of the Yangtze River; and is responsible for the production of digital products such as electronic navigational charts. It holds a Class A Professional Engineering Survey Qualification Certificate issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and a Class A Surveying and Mapping Qualification Certificate issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Surveying Center continuously optimizes the functionality of the Yangtze River Electronic Chart and has successfully applied a comprehensive solution for the production, service, and application of the Yangtze River Electronic Chart to the major tributaries of the Yangtze River mainstem, achieving “coordination between the mainstem and tributaries.” The Center has fully launched the application of big data in navigation channel management and is deeply exploring the use of artificial intelligence technology in Yangtze River navigation information services. It has established a surveying production management and operation system for the Yangtze River Navigation Channel Surveying Center and proficiently applies a comprehensive set of navigation channel surveying technologies based on an integrated “air-land-water” surveying system, possessing an annual surveying capacity exceeding 30,000 square kilometers (converted).
Projects undertaken by the Surveying Center have successively won the Gold Award of the Peixiu Prize from the Chinese Society of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation, as well as Platinum and Gold Awards for Outstanding Surveying and Mapping Engineering and the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress. The Center has also received numerous honors, including the Outstanding Water Transport Survey Award from the China Water Transport Association, and has obtained more than 20 invention patents, utility model patents, and software copyrights.
