"In a significant move for its global expansion strategy, BYD has officially announced the construction of a new factory in Malaysia, with production expected to begin in 2026. This BYD Malaysia investment represents a major commitment to the Southeast Asian market and will serve as a crucial BYD ASEAN hub for electric vehicle manufacturing. The new BYD plant in Malaysia underscores the company's ambition to dominate the global electric vehicle manufacturing landscape beyond its home market in China."

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD's Asia-Pacific Automotive Sales Division, said, "Malaysia has always been one of BYD's most important markets in Southeast Asia. Today, the construction of the knock-down (CKD) assembly plant in Malaysia and the launch of the all-new BYD HiSeal not only mark a new chapter in BYD's development in Malaysia, but also demonstrate BYD's unwavering commitment to deepening its presence in the local market. Going forward, BYD will continue to maintain its roots in Malaysia, bringing world-leading new energy vehicle technologies to local consumers. BYD's commitment is reflected not only in the continued delivery of innovative products, but also in its comprehensive investment in Malaysia's electric vehicle ecosystem—from local assembly to talent development to the promotion of electric mobility. BYD looks forward to working with local partners in Malaysia to move towards a greener and smarter transportation future." On the same day, the 36th BYD Wing Hin store also celebrated its grand opening, bringing the total number of BYD and Denza brand stores in Malaysia to 43.

In the first half of this year, BYD achieved impressive global sales, reaching 2.146 million units, of which overseas markets contributed over 470,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 132%. This figure already exceeds BYD's total overseas sales for the entire year of 2024, and its share of the global automotive market continues to rise.

In July, BYD sold a total of 80,700 new energy vehicles overseas.

Furthermore, the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list was recently released, with BYD entering the top 100 for the first time.
