"In a landmark development for urban air mobility in China, the first low-altitude flight route connecting Kunshan, Jiangsu Province to downtown Shanghai has officially commenced operations. This pioneering Kunshan Shanghai air route creates a dedicated air corridor for drone delivery and future eVTOL operations between two key economic hubs. The opening represents a significant step in advancing the low-altitude economy in the Yangtze River Delta region, providing a validated model for inter-city urban air mobility route development."
On August 18th, the first low-altitude flight connecting Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, and downtown Shanghai officially opened. This route provides direct, cross-provincial and cross-river access to central Shanghai, with a one-way flight time of approximately 20 minutes, significantly improving travel efficiency between the two cities.

As the first intercity low-altitude commuter route into central Shanghai, the "Kunshan-Yangpu" helicopter route offers a comprehensive travel experience combining commuting, sightseeing, and transfers. Upon arrival at the Fuxing Island base, passengers can continue their journey to Pudong International Airport or transfer to sightseeing routes to Lujiazui or to low-altitude routes to Jiaxing, Haining, and Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province, conveniently merging commuting and sightseeing trips.
Another key feature of this route is its nighttime operation, allowing passengers to travel in the evening and experience the urban nightscape of the Yangtze River Delta, further enriching the application scenarios for regional low-altitude travel.

"The newly opened low-altitude flight route serves as critical infrastructure for the region's low-altitude economy, enabling efficient drone delivery services and paving the way for future passenger eVTOL flight path operations. This commercial drone corridor between Kunshan and Shanghai demonstrates China's commitment to developing comprehensive urban air mobility networks. The Kunshan Shanghai air route establishes a replicable framework for connecting urban centers with surrounding municipalities through regulated low-altitude airspace, positioning the Yangtze River Delta as a leader in UAM implementation and setting a benchmark for regional integration through advanced air transportation solutions."
