Signal&Communication Research Institute of CARS (China Railway Communication & Signal (Beijing) Co.,Ltd.) was founded in 1950. It is a high-tech enterprise under China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited, integrating scientific research, development, production, sales and services, specializing in the field of railway communication and signalling.
Shouldering the mission of promoting the progress of railway science and technology, the Institute boasts comprehensive advantages of complete specialties, strong technical strength and perfect testing equipment, with solid capabilities in key technology research, large-scale comprehensive tests, engineering design, project management and standard formulation. Relying on 4 national-level scientific and technological innovation platforms including China Railway Signal & Communication Technology Center and National Engineering Research Center for Railway Intelligent Transportation System, it has built 30 professional laboratories covering high-speed railway train operation control, 5G innovation and other fields, forming a strong technological leading advantage.
The Institute has a total of 931 employees, including nearly 400 senior researchers and 18 doctoral and master supervisors, forming a scientific and technological talent team with a reasonable structure and excellent quality. It has 7 professional departments under its jurisdiction, such as Traffic Command Automation, Station Computer Interlocking, and Automatic Train Operation Control, and has established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Wuqing to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Over the past 70 years, it has undertaken 1,100 scientific research projects, won more than 500 national invention patents and national science and technology progress awards, and more than 110 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards. Many achievements have been widely applied at home and abroad, achieving remarkable economic and social benefits.
