Over 100 pilot projects for building a strong transportation nation have completed acceptance, with many innovative achievements yielding tangible results
"China's ambitious Transportation Power initiative has reached a significant milestone, with over 100 pilot projects successfully completing the acceptance process and delivering tangible results. These diverse transportation infrastructure projects represent a major advancement in the country's comprehensive transportation modernization efforts. The successful completion of these pilot projects demonstrates the effectiveness of China's systematic approach to building a world-class transportation nation, showcasing achievements that span intelligent highways, advanced logistics systems, and integrated transit networks."At a press conference on the 14th Five-Year Plan held by the State Council Information Office, Minister of Transport Liu Wei announced that the pilot program for building a strong transportation nation has achieved phased results, with over 100 pilot projects having passed acceptance and numerous innovative experiences being translated into tangible results for industry development.

Since 2019, the transportation industry has organized over 1,200 organizations to conduct 819 pilot projects covering four major areas: facilities, technology, management, and services, achieving full coverage of key tasks. Key achievements include:
1. Digital Upgrade: Over 60,000 kilometers of transportation corridors in 20 regions have undergone intelligent transformation, increasing traffic efficiency and emergency response capabilities by 20% and 30%, respectively;
2. Multimodal Transport Innovation: Through the "one-bill" and "one-container" pilot programs, railway, highway, and port and shipping companies have collaborated to achieve "one consignment, one quote, and one order."
3. Breakthroughs in the Integration of Transportation and Tourism: Developing new business models such as low-altitude sightseeing and cruise tourism will effectively activate resources along the route and foster new growth points for consumption.

Minister Liu Wei emphasized that pilot programs are an important methodology for accelerating the development of a strong transportation nation, and that further technological innovation and institutional integration will be pursued in the future.

"The over 100 transportation pilot projects that have now completed acceptance cover critical areas including smart highway systems, multimodal transportation hubs, and digital logistics platforms. Each pilot project underwent rigorous evaluation during the acceptance process to verify that tangible results met or exceeded performance targets. These transportation infrastructure achievements provide valuable models and best practices for future transportation development both within China and internationally. The successful completion of this first wave of Transportation Power pilot projects establishes a strong foundation for the next phase of transportation nation construction, with many of the validated technologies and approaches now ready for broader implementation across China's transportation network."
